Maureen and Nick's Engagement

Maureen and Nick and getting married next May at the Riverview in Simsbury. Maureen is a good friend with Jessica and Joe - whose wedding I photographed this season --- on the rainiest day of the year!!!! Maureen and Nick met at UCONN and they are tooooo cute together.... We went to Great River Park in East Hartford for their session. I had not photographed there before so it was especially fun for me. Sidenote, Great River Park has the fattest squirrels I gave EVER seen! Watch out, I think they might be evolving into something more ferocious!!!

Meghan and Pat's Engagement

Meet Meghan and Pat.... Meghan and Pat are having their wedding in July of next year at Glastonbury Hills Country Club. Meghan was in the bridal party of Jessica and Gregg's wedding back in November of 2008. I was so excited when she called to ask me about shooting her wedding. We headed to the ferry slip in South Glastonbury for their session. We timed it just perfectly to get some awesome late afternoon sun....

Fall Craziness and Caitlin and Mark

I am going to do things a little out of order..... very like me this time of year!!!! It is crazy here at the studio. It is a beautiful time of year to: get married, have your engagement photos taken, do a family portrait, and start planning for holiday cards and presents. That said, we are busy busy busy gals here at CDP.

So, today I am going to share some recent engagement shots.... Meet Caitlin and Mark. (Insert that Caitlin is a fellow Univ or Colorado grad so she is instantly extra wonderful!) Caitlin and Mark live in Boston and are getting married next October here in CT. In wanting to be consistent with their fall/barn(ish)-themed wedding plans, we headed down to a friend's farm. Was I ever lucky that the old Chevy was out on the grass! It was heaven for me to have this beauty to use as a prop. We had some fun together!

OH MY!!!!!

I knew it had been too long since I had updated the blog..... but I didn't realize how long it had really been until today. OK, I am in huge trouble with Sheri (my production manager and album design guru) when she finds out how bad I have been..... For what it is worth, our facebook page is pretty up to date - just have a few recent weddings to add! I am making a promise to anyone who might be reading this little excerpt..... I am going to get the blog updated SOOOOON! I have so many fun photos to share and have had the pleasure of photographing some wonderful couples and families recently. And, not to mention the babies...... soooo cute, those babies! :)

Landon's "Before" Photo

There is nothing more wonderful than photographing a dear friend - ESPECIALLY a pregnant friend! And, when I get the honor of photographing them only days before the baby is born, I consider myself pretty lucky. So, soon you shall meet Landon.... we'll call this his "before" photograph!

Heart-felt love and congratulations to Mommy Kari, Daddy Patrick, and Big Brother Hudson. You have a beautiful family!

Love you all!

Janelle and Dustin's Studio Engagement Session

It was a dark and stormy night.... no, it REALLY was!!!! We had these grand plans to take Janelle and Dustin's engagement photos at the beach or AT LEAST outside. However, Mother Nature had something else in store for us.... TORNADO WARNINGS!!! So, reluctantly, we moved into the studio for our session. I am not typically a big fan of engagement sessions under artificial lighting and in confined spaces like in the studio. But, I am a big fan of the chemistry that Janelle and Dustin were able to display in front of the camera. All said and done, I couldn't be happier that we had to move inside. And, I am also quite happy that Mother Nature didn't knock out the power while were shooting!!!

Congratulations Janelle and Dustin! I hope you love them - here is a sneak peak....

Veena and Rich - June 27th, 2009

I first met Veena and Rich last year when they asked me to photograph their wedding. I have been excited about their wedding since that very day. Rich is from the UK and works as a soccer coach here in the states. Veena's roots are Indian and from a Hindu culture. She has been in the med school in the Caribbean while doing her planning - impressive! She had the help of the fantastic Candice Dowling of Jubilee Events (www.EventJubilee.com) Their wedding was the perfect blend and celebration of both western and eastern cultures. Kerri and I had such a wonderful time photographing their wedding.

It was all held at the Hilton in Stamford. And, it was truly two weddings in one day: getting ready, western ceremony, family portraits, getting ready, eastern ceremony, family portraits and then the reception. My feet still hurt but it was soooo much fun that I hardly noticed!!! :) Her details were gorgeous. We were somewhat limited with opportunities for photographs - the Hilton has some lovely bridal gardens but the sun was scorching hot and the grass was soaked from rain... imagine that!!!!

Veena and Rich, you are both so lovely. And, I just wanted to eat up the little flower girl and ring bearer with their accents and antics. :)

Congratulations to you both!
